vaultfox | dealing with imposter syndrome as a cosplayer/creative with ADHD @vaultfox | Uploaded September 2022 | Updated October 2024, 3 hours ago.
I've dealt with imposter syndrome ... pretty much my entire life, but doubly so when it comes to cosplay and creating content. Throwing ADHD into that mix just makes everything even worse because now all of that self-doubt and time blindness takes over and somehow I'm four hours into working on a cosplay and can't remember exactly what I did to make it!
Lately I've been stressing about doing things "the right way", or I guess in simpler terms, the "neurotypical way" even though that's not how my brain works. I crave novelty and variety and need to switch things up a lot ... like with scripting my youtube videos. Most of the time I type out scripts on my laptop but have been enjoying writing them on my phone, but I STILL struggle with the fact that writing scripts on a phone doesn't feel like "the right way" to do it!
But there really is not "right way" to do things and I'm trying to combat that feeling of imposter syndrome by ... well, talking to you guys about it :)
