Widespread accusation on conservative social media sites said that Melissa Esperanza Ramirez, the Stamford woman charged in the July 13 motor vehicle crash deaths of a Bridgeport police officer and his girlfriend, voted illegally for several years in New Britain as a non-U.S. citizen.
This accusation about Ramirez, which is false, advances a right-wing conspiracy, a trope that Connecticut and U.S. elections are rife with fraudulent votes by "illegal" immigrants.
