Could a model that empowers people to create their own microschools transform education? Kelly Smith, an MIT engineer and founder of Prenda, believes so. His approach focuses on providing structure, tools, and support for individuals to harness their unique energy and establish personalized learning environments.

Smith advocates for aiding potential educators to overcome perceived barriers such as a lack of expertise in education or running a small business by providing online curriculum and tutorials.

He stresses the importance of maintaining flexibility within the model, allowing educators to tailor their microschools to the needs of their learners, while still achieving essential learning outcomes. By harnessing community energy and contributions in this way, Smith suggests, we could solve societal problems more efficiently and effectively.
