Traci Rossi wants everyone to have a north star. As executive director of Friends of the Children in Portland, Oregon, Rossi asks everyone in her organization to envision their north star goal, and then pursue it every single day.
The award-winning nonprofit pairs local foster youth with mentors who commit to spend at least 12 years with them. And Rossi has found that the north star vision inspires everyone: foster youth, the mentors, and her staff.
While short-term goals are important, Rossi knows that picturing the future is powerful beyond measure. Because everyone needs a reason to keep going.
