For this second installment in the Weisfeld box series, I spend time exploring another carefully curated group of extraordinary classical and audiophile LPs — many drawn from the great British recording tradition, including legendary pressings from His Master’s Voice, EMI, Decca, and more.
Beyond the rarity and beauty of these records, what continues to move me most is the listening culture and historical lineage behind them. Some of these recordings trace back to collections associated with figures deeply connected to the audiophile and classical music community, including the late Sid Marks, whose passion for music and recorded sound influenced generations of listeners and collectors.
What makes this project especially meaningful to me is the opportunity not simply to “acquire” records, but to live with them, listen deeply, evaluate them carefully, and share that journey here on The Pressing Matters. These albums have been lovingly preserved and thoughtfully prepared, and this video is intended as an immersive look into that world of classical vinyl collecting, musical discovery, and audiophile history.
Along the way, we encounter beautiful label art, iconic British pressings, remarkable performances, and even a few unexpected surprises near the end of the box.
