In this video, we compare four vinyl pressings of Pink Floyd’s legendary 1971 album Meddle.
Featured pressings include:
• Original UK EMI Harvest pressing
• Japanese Odeon pressing
• Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab pressing
• 2016 Pink Floyd Records reissue mastered by Bernie Grundman
This shootout was conducted on my reference system together with Oswaldo Martinez of Let There Be Sound. These are my personal listening impressions after comparing the pressings across multiple listening sessions.
We discuss tonal balance, bass performance, imaging, midrange character, dynamics, soundstage presentation, and overall musical engagement — including how each pressing handles the atmosphere and scale of this remarkable Pink Floyd album.
