This post-McMillan role (delayed for a year due to the star's heart surgery) didn't work out for Rock. Hudson is a former CIA guy surprised by a son he didn't know he had. Son (Jack Scalia) is a struggling detective, so Rock helps him out now and then. The 1982 series ran for an unlucky 13 episodes. Theme by the prolific Patrick Williams ('Streets of San Francisco' etc).
