After he left M*A*S*H Wayne Rogers signed up for a tour of duty in 1930s Los Angeles. 'City of Angels' (1976) was a throwback detective series inspired by the success of Chinatown. It led off with an impressive three-part story based on true events, but Rogers grew increasingly irate at the quality of later scripts. It left the air after a half season.
