This 1987 CBC series dealt with the personal and professional lives of the partners in small law firm in Toronto. Over eight seasons there were cast changes: one member was battling cancer and died during production of the third season. Sonja Smits was written out after she suffered a near fatal ectopic pregnancy during shooting. A 2019 attempt to continue the series lasted six episodes. Composer Eric Robertson was nominated for a Gemini award, but he didn't get to do an opening title until the third season, and the next year he was replaced.
