Gerry and Sylvia Anderson had moved from Supermarionation to live-action series by the time 1975's 'Space: 1999' came along. The premise: nuclear waste on the moon explodes, sending it off into space. Moonbase Alpha, and its inhabitants, unfortunately went along for the ride. For the second, and final, season several cast changes were implemented but they were not well received by some fans (though Barry Morse was happy to be let go).
Longtime Anderson fave Barry Gray wrote the first season theme; for the second series jazz musician Derek Wadsworth contributed a driving synth theme.
00:00 Opening titles (season one)
01:10 End credits (season one)
01:41 Opening titles (season two)
02:27 End credits (season two)
Upgraded: Improved video and audio; season two end credits added.
