Caroline (Lea Thompson) is a cartoonist, with an active social life. Her relationships and those of friends in her circle are a running theme throughout the series. 'Caroline' ran for four seasons on NBC; it was the #4 show in its debut year (1995); by season four it ranked #91. (The network changed the timeslot every season.) For a while the show opened with a cartoon that changed in each episode. After about a dozen episodes it was replaced by a more raucous theme that remained for the rest of the run.
