The first sitcom to appear on The Family Channel, 'Big Brother Jake' (1990) was about a former stuntman (played by Jake Steinfeld) who returns to his Brooklyn foster home to help his recently-widowed foster Mom. A best-selling author and health evangelist, Steinfeld was CEO of 'Body by Jake', developing a fitness-oriented network, a LaCrosse League, and more. As for 'Big Brother Jake', Variety sneered 'It's hard to believe television can be this bad'...but it lasted four years. IMDB says the theme is by Scott V Smith, a soul/R&B/gospel/Christian-music singer/songwriter.
