. Here I'm using the Acer C710-2847 to talk about Google's Chrome operating system and the affordable cloud-oriented computers that go with it.
Your typical chromebook uses the following hardware:
1.2GHz Celeron dual-core processors
2-4GB of DDR3 RAM
16GB SSD or a 320GB HDD
11-14" display
802.11/a/b/g/n dual-band wifi
bluetooth
Chrome OS is primarily a cloud-based system that uses storage and resources that reside on the Internet. CHromebooks act as an affordable hub to access those resources. _

![LEGO Power Functions: How to improve operating range

. Anyone who has tried to use the LEGO Power Functions system outdoors knows that the range is quite limited due to interference of the infrared signal (sunlight and lack of objects to bounce off of). I experimented with the idea of using a remote control extender designed for use in entertainment centers. By transmitting RF signals and then re-transmitting the IR signal at the receiver to the PF receiver, it eliminates any potential range issue (up 150 feet).
The one I chose to use based on how it operated was the NextGen Remote Control Extender Genius (my video on it is here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9ij_Fa7jtOY )
Building instructions for the extender holder are here https://mausolfb.altervista.org/lego/Building%20Instructions/Building%20Instructions%20[IR-Holder].html
