On May 22, 2024. The Ellsworth Police Department received a call from a man stating that he left his Bluetooth speaker at a Park. The caller said when he went to retrieve it, the speaker was gone. An officer reviewed security camera footage which showed 2 young males walking into frame, sit at a picnic table then walk off with the speaker. The officer recognized one of the individuals (Kaidan) in the video and went to his house the next day to question him. Kaidan admitted to taking the Bluetooth speaker which was valued at around $250. He stated that he placed it in a different location but that it was still at the park. Kaidan initially did not want to say who was with him but eventually stated that the other individual's name was Eli. Kaidan agreed to go with the officer to look for the Bluetooth speaker. They drove to the park, walked behind the dugout at the baseball field, and the stolen speaker was there. School employees who were attending the baseball field took custody of the speaker and agreed to bring it back to its owner. Kaidan was then given a ride home and the officer explained that he would have been arrested if they did not locate the speaker. Kaidan was found guilty for Theft, he was ordered to pay a $175 fine.
