Doing a Sprint off a ledge makes you briefly enter a state where you are simultaneously in air and Sprinting. This changes the cancel system of the Sprint, giving you access to some inputs which are not normally possible during it.

Admittedly, you get Sprint boots about 5 minutes before the end of the game, so the use for this tech may be a bit limited... but still, it's something. Maybe it helps more in 100% runs?

0:00 - You can do a pretty impressive long jump with this tech. To do it, Sprint off a ledge, then press jump and regular attack simultaneously (more or less) while still holding forward. This makes you break out of the Sprint jump, allowing you to do a regular jump or double jump along with air attacks while moving forward at a really high speed.

To note, while I think it's possible, starting this long jump with an area air attack seems much tighter timing-wise and I only got it to work once or twice in all of my testing. It might give an bigger aerial boost, but it's hard to tell due to the lack of testing.

0:17 - If you run off a ledge, then let go of L-stick and jump with a correct timing, Trevor will do a stationary Sprint jump. Since this happens over the edge of a ledge, what happens next resembles the Spinning Chain ledge clip: Trevor clips through the lip of the ledge and descends in a grounded state for quite a few meters downwards. This has roughly the same utility as the Spinning Chain ledge clip, such as being able to break lengthy falls. Although, I think it's generally more convenient to just use Spinning Chain ledge clip to generate this sort of effects.

0:30 - If you Sprint off a ledge, then let go of L-stick while jumping and doing an air attack (i.e. basically the long jump except without L-stick), you can do a stationary broken out Sprint jump which gives you a surprising amount of height. Your first jump alone gets something like a double jump's worth of height, and you can follow it up with other high jump tech afterwards too. (Although, you might not have a lot of momentum during the jump, which would make it more difficult to actually use it for something.)

0:42 - The game has about 3 large pits which you're supposed to use a normal Sprint jump to cross over. If you use your epic long jump tech there, you end up activating the death collision nearby, causing a game over. Perhaps the "falling to your doom" trigger is set to automatically activate if you're in a regular air attack animation over a pit?

(This makes it less likely that these pits could be skipped in speedruns, even if an infinite jump or similar was discovered at some point in time.)
