I'm not sure when this Carvel commercial was produced or aired, but I'd guess around 1979, give or take a year. Proprietor Tom Carvel talks up the "Little Miss Half Pint Beauty Contest," a promotion held annually since 1954. The lucky lass would then ride a float at the Orange Bowl parade in Miami. "That's not bad for kids... who haven't even reached five years of age yet, is it?" wonders Tom. I was once contacted by a woman who said she was the winner seen in the ad, but I can't find the email so I have no details.
