Now I am SIX NIGHTS in on the #TheGreatMilkyWayChase challenge of doing Milky Way Photography for 23 Straight Nights and the biggest challenge isn't turning out to be capturing the Milky Way but getting all the social media out with all the travel and lack of good internet signal! Man no matter the great plan, if you are on the road for 6-10 hours it is crazy hard to get everything edited, rendered and uploaded. But the ride continues!
Heading out on my own and needing to avoid clouds all throughout the area in Utah County. Thinking I could find some cool farm implements or hay bails to capture a Milky Way over down in Juab County I started driving south!
Finding a canyon road I had never driven down, I pulled over and did some Google maps and Photopills research to see if the area could work out and I was glad to see a good option of white/yellow hills that I could light paint and get a Panorama arching Milky Way coming off of it. That ended up being a bit too dangerous of a hike to do alone where no one knew where I was at, so I started driving south and quickly realized I could do some Car Trails!
After finding a decent curve in the road that ALSO offered a little bit of a higher vantage point to set up the camera over the road, I realized that I COULD BE THE DRIVING VEHICLE! I set the time-lapse running and started driving BACK and FORTH and BACK and FORTH along the road trying different lights and fog lights only until I had passed the camera over 20 times!
Keep checking back on the adventure as I go for 23 straight nights of Milky Way Photography! Night 7 I went out with Brendon again and we head out MUCH further than Utah County and hit up Fantasy Canyon for our very first time! Thanks for following!
