Location planning for your Milky Way Photography is not hard. You literally just need to find the closest dark sky near you using LightPollutionMap.info and then find something cool to use as a foreground! Honestly, the foreground is the hardest part. Use my composition tips to know what kinds of foregrounds would work well. Once you discover a really dark site, the scavenger hunt for a cool Foreground subject is half the fun! And if you have a place in mind already, check the light pollution and then go at the right point of the year to get the most out of it!
