Answer from a recent live Q&A
Can nutrition help with Schizophrenia?
While I have had many patients and wellness clients have great benefits for moods with nutrition, I have only had one patient with Schizophrenia that used my nutrition advice, and it benefited him greatly to eat plant-based, although he relapsed with symptoms when he ate meat and dairy again over one weekend, so it was a delicate benefit.
I would love to have more people add nutrition to their mental health care plan, in addition to medical treatments they may need. It may not replace medical treatments, but they can benefit not just mental health but their physical health as well.
