UPDATE: One commenter said they regularly show their faces, and I agree. Also, one person wondered if I was against the First Amendment. No, I defend First Amendment cases, and filming outside is typically ok except in certain situations, such as legal restrictions, etc. I just helped to throw out a $25M defamation action and defended my client's rights to free speech. Do not think that our constitutional liberties are entirely unrestrained. Even the second amendment (and I am a gun owner) is full of restrictions, despite what it says as written. I said in the video that the defendants in the case are entitled to a presumption of innocence. I leave comments up except those that seek to incite or call for retribution. You can hard feelings about this, and that's great. Just be respectful to others.
California lawyer Andrew Watters was not happy running into "True North Transparency" at a shopping center. He also filmed them, and was, according to the complaint, threatened with being maced. He attached a transcription of when he filed them. This was reported in the papers, with at least one person being maced. Watters alleges that this is part of a conspiracy to deprive persons of their liberties, and a civil RICO action. I did speak with him, and he is an aggressive lawyer. A main advantage he has is that he can run the litigation himself. The defendant(s) will need lawyers. He tried obtaining a TRO but it was denied by the judge, as there wasn't enough evidence in the TRO to warrant it being granted. Watters appealed the denial of the TRO. All persons are presumed innocent or free from wrong-doing. Allegations in a complaint are not proven true, even if "verified." These are merely allegations at this point.
