We take California State Route 1 south from the Carmel area. We drive as far as we can in March of 2025. This road makes its way along the Pacific Coast in a dramatic fashion as it hugs the cliffs of the Big Sur region of California. At the time this video was recorded, a section of this road was closed due to landslides. We drove up to the point of closure, but we then had to turn around and go back toward Carmel. This was actually a good thing because it allowed us to experience traveling this dramatic road in both directions.
