While traveling to Portland OR to visit my daughter on 9/10/2013, I caught California Northern Railroad (CFNR) #503, a Genset 3GS21B locomotive, switching at the Adams Vegetable Oil facility near Arbuckle. This is the former Southern Pacific West Valley Line that runs between Davis and Tehama. The road switcher dropped off one tank car and shuffled some others around before heading north with the rest of cars. Background noise is from traffic on State Route 99W which was US 99W when I was a child. Interstate 5 replaced the former US route and parallels it just to the west.
