Mixing up and explaining the reasons for my custom cacti/succulent potting mix.

Here's the recipe:
2 parts bark (3/8" - dust)
1 part bark fines
2 parts crushed granite (1/4" or smaller)

Simple version:
2 parts bark
1 part potting mix
2 parts perlite

This has proven to be an excellent mix so far and is very easy to water compared to the 511 mix I had previously used.

I'd love to hear about your experience with this or any other custom potting mixes you have tried!
