The HandToolery | Building a Sideboard part 17: Mortising the Hinges | Hand Tool Woodworking @TheHandToolery | Uploaded 5 years ago | Updated 2 hours ago
This video represents a major landmark: after mortising the hinges into the door stiles, we can glue the case up!

Mortising hinges is about being deliberate and careful about your work, and setting up a repeatable workflow. You'll see that I set squares and gauges to use them over and again to get very accurate results. One thing I forgot to do was drill the holes for the screws, which I will do later, in the video where I make and install the doors.

I hope you enjoy the video!

If you'd like to stay up to date on the real-time progress for the sideboard, check my instagram account, below. There, you'll see that I'm actually moving along at quite the pace, considering I'm not using any electricity except for lighting and heat (ha!) and since I've got a family and a full-time job!
Thanks so much for watching!

I hope you've enjoyed the progress so far!
