I call this the "Shampaign" desk, because it is inspired by the Shaker tradition, yet it is modular like Campaign furniture.
Shaker + Campaign = Shampaign
(Thanks, Dad, for the idea for the name!)

The entire build was done using hand tools, except for a cordless drill, and 4 small cuts on a miter saw (before I made myself a shooting board) to square up the tops of the legs.

The whole carcass can be assembled and disassembled without metal fasteners.

Some non-structural screws are used on the back of the drawers for micro-adjusting the drawer depth stops, and to secure a piece of leather that acts as a clasp for a secret compartment.

I bought the brass drawer pulls on eBay--it was tough to find a set of them for a reasonable price. I believe they are real antiques, but I cannot be sure. I think they are cast brass with some stamped brass parts.

I do have very basic Sketchup plans available, if you want to direct message me. There aren't cut lists: it's just to give you dimensions and a very basic idea of how it all goes together.

Enjoy!
