Video footage taken at the Great Central Railway, UK in January 2022 on a photocharter organised by TimeLine Events. The programme features two locomotives in action viz. British Railways 2-6-0 Class 2MT number 46521 in lined-green livery and 4-6-0 Class 6959 number 6990 ‘Witherslack Hall’.
The morning session utilised 46521 hauling two maroon suburban coaches heading north towards Loughborough with some excellent runpasts near ‘Rabbit Bridge’ taken under excellent, frosty conditions at sunrise.
From noon, 6990 joined the charter hauling a long rake of vans; the aim of the session was to create ‘passing train’ scenarios, which is more easily said than done! The locomotives are seen in action at Swithland Sidings and later in the day at Kinchley Lane.
Deltic 55.019 'Royal Highland Fusilier' which was visiting the railway for a gala is also briefly seen.
