A couple of short VHS videos of Great Central Railway 4-4-0 'Butler Henderson' in action.
The first part, filmed in November 1991, shows the locomotive in its former green Great Central Railway livery as number 506. The sequence was taken at night at Loughborough and Quorn & Woodhouse stations where the 'Night Mail' postal train was re-enacted.
The second part, shot in February 1992, features the locomotive in its British Railways black livery as number 62660. Due to time constraints the locomotive was only lined out on one side! Some sequences at Loughborough station were also filmed after dark.
The locomotive stayed on the GCR until the boiler certificate expired in 1992. It was then moved to the National Railway Museum at York in April 1982 where it was placed on static display. Currently it is on loan to Barrow Hill Roundhouse, near Chesterfield, UK. It is unlikely to steam again.
