Rules:
- The difficulty must be set to Hard for all fights the party participates in.
- EXP gain must be turned off (JP gain is still allowed).
- Norende must not be developed in any way. This is to prevent access to items, equipment, and special moves that can completely break the game.
- The use of Bravely Second is not allowed (not that you can get more SP with Citra, but still).
His main gimmick is that he uses counterattacks that trigger on specific types of damage, which wouldn't be so bad, were it not for the fact that counters don't trigger Knight's Protect Ally ability. So he doesn't just counter any magic damage, you have to take turns away from him in any way you can.
Fortunately, his A.I. has a very exploitable feature: if he detects that someone in the party is dead, he will Brave twice, no exceptions. His attacks have a fair amount of stopping power behind them, so a lot of time has to be spent making sure Edea is able to live through his barrage, but if you're patient, you have this in the bag.
