My everything is in severe pain.
Restrictions of the challenge run:
- This shall follow the New Chaos route in the game, and all battles participated in must be fought on the Expert difficulty setting.
- All bosses shall be fight in ascending order according to level, and any exp gain should be minimized where possible.
- Unless explicitly given to us in-game, the use of passwords are forbidden.
- For the sake of simplicity, the production and use of the "March to Death" sub-app is prohibited.
I'm not sure if this comes across well in the video, but Asura Roga is a huge problem. There is literally only one skill in the whole game that can cure it, no-one is immune to it, and that skill can only be gained from one specific demon at this level. Once infected, it lasts for a preset number of turns, during which the afflicted party can and will attack other party members, and most likely kill them. I've lost nearly twenty attempts to bad Asura Roga rolls, be it hitting MC, three party members, or sometimes both. On top of all that, Asura doesn't use it in a predictable manner anymore after half health, so it can catch us off guard when we aren't expecting it. I'm honestly surprised I managed to beat him.
It wasn't easy getting that Bai Suzhen to where she is, and I had to ditch my usual "debuff and rotate" strategy since anything without Resist Fire or better dies instantly to Maragidyne. Playing it close to the chest definitely helped here, and MC shows why playing support with him and items is so vital in these runs. Without them, I may never have gotten past this sector.
