On November 6, 2008, Portland Trail Blazers guard Brandon Roy hit one of the most thrilling, chaotic, and iconic buzzer-beaters in NBA history to defeat the Houston Rockets 101-99 in overtime at the Rose Garden. The game featured a dizzying sequence of three go-ahead shots in the final 1.9 seconds of overtime.

With the game tied at 96-96 in overtime, Brandon Roy hit a tough, 20-foot turnaround jumper over Ron Artest to give the Blazers a 98-96 lead.

Following a Houston timeout, Yao Ming caught the inbound pass and hit a baseline jumper while being fouled by Roy. Yao sank the subsequent free throw to complete the three-point play, giving the Rockets a 99-98 lead.

With only 0.8 seconds left and no timeouts remaining, Portland's Steve Blake made a deep inbound pass to Roy on the left wing. Roy caught the ball, turned, and launched a deep 30-foot three-pointer that splashed through the net as time expired to secure the 101-99 victory.
