Here's Part 1 of 2 videos to mark seventy years after the first Riddles "BR Class 5" emerged from Derby.
This video features one of my 5MT’s, heavily weathered to dusty, rusty and crusty "end of steam" condition. We also pay homage to the Stanier “Black 5” and show how similar the Standard is to its famous forebear.
Part 2 features both Bachmann "Standard Five" models from my own collection, each with contrasting styles of weathering to show how they appeared in service. Both of the real engines survive today and have interesting stories in their own right.
