This weathered Terrier "Carisbrooke" will be up for grabs in the Summer Edition of the Hornby Collector Club Magazine. For your chance to enter, join the Collector Club today. All details can be found via uk.hornby.com
Hornby's delightful little model of "Carisbrooke" is impressively detailed and has received Custom Deluxe Weathering in the Neville Grove workshop to give it a "polished & in service" look. Various soot, ash, track dirt and brake dust colours are carefully applied to key areas that contrast nicely with the polished green paintwork - just like on the real thing. It even has real coal added into the tiny bunker!
DCC fitted, this model is also a super smooth runner at low and high speeds and is seen here on the layout, put to work on the morning pick up goods before performing passenger duties.
"Carisbrooke" is in Bulleid's attractive Malachite Green livery but with the sunshine lettering modified from "Southern" to "British Railways". This makes the model ideal for running with both Southern and BR locomotives & rolling stock as this livery would have overlapped both periods. Although the new Hornby Terrier will look good on any model layout, the used - but well looked after appearance of this one is also perfect for any of you modelling preserved railways.
