Some kind stranger left This Bose Acoustic Wave in front of my shop today, and much to my delight I was able to repair it by spraying the slide switch and volume control potentiometer with some electronics lubricant.
Cleaning out contact points in slide switches and potentiometer is something most everyone in the electronics repair business has had to contend with. The process is generally pretty simple, but a few of them don't have access ports in which to spray your contact cleaner. Here are a couple techniques I've used in such situations.
