Here's a creative way to entertain yourself during a lightning storm. I attached a 200 foot long wire antenna to one side of my spark gap, and the other side to a ground wire. I would guess the voltage was peaking at over 4000 volts, but the current is so low it's not to dangerous, assuming my antenna doesn't get directly struck by lightning.
