You don't come to me for normal... this one is wild.
I didn't come up with the "base" bodyweight leg curl setup of this exercise (saw it years ago from somebody else) but I haven't seen anybody else come all the way up like this.
It takes the hamstrings through what is almost their full anatomical range of motion from a good stretch to basically fully shortened.

----------------
At the bottom, the knees are fully extended and the hips are flexed (not fully but fairly close). Because the hamstrings cross both joints, this puts them in a good stretch position.
The hips are bent about 90 degrees, so not fully in the MAXIMUM stretch position. You can try and push your torso forward a bit here to get a little more stretch.
Leg curl yourself up with power.
When I come up to the top, my knees are fully flexed and my hips are fully extended. This is the peak CONTRACTED position for the hamstrings...they're fully shortened here like the top of a leg curl.
