BEN SCHUMAKER started the Memory Project as a graduate student at UW-Madison in 2004. Here he will tell the story of how he started the project and then share another story for the first time in public.
Ben founded the Memory Project as a graduate student at the UW-Madison in 2004. The Memory Project is a unique educational program in which high school art students create handmade portraits as gifts of friendship for children facing substantial challenges around the world. Ben is going to share with us more information about his goal to help build understanding and kindness between youth from disparate cultures. To date the program, has involved 300,000 youth from 56 different countries, which is incredible.
