November 12: The Wisconsin Veterans Museum: Every Veteran is a Story

Fellow Member Chris Kolakowski, Director of the Wisconsin Veterans Museum, gave members an engaging and instructive presentation about our impressive Veteran’s Museum in Downtown Madison. It is an asset for the citizens of the State of Wisconsin and those who served in the US armed services, and it is free admission! Chris emphasized the museum is about the stories of Wisconsin veterans and not just battles and the material of war. From the Civil War to recent conflicts, the museum pays tribute to those who served. Only about 3% of the collections can be displayed due to space limitations. The museum would like to continue its presence in Madison at the top of State Street. Steps are currently underway to make that plan a reality by 2030.
