A personal journey 22 years in the making. In this video, I’m playtesting the latest version of the Warcraft: Total War mod using the Giant Map, featuring a very special hero: Bellatrix of Arathor. This character is a direct recreation of my original Human Female Paladin from 2004–2008.
Using her actual extracted WoW skin and textures, I’ve brought her into the Medieval 2 engine. While some assets differ—such as using Stromgarde shoulderpads and a red cape instead of her classic blue cape—she retains her iconic look, blonde hairstyle, and the classic "old-school" revealing armor style.
The Legion of Strom Returns:
I’ve officially reintroduced the Legion of Strom as unique bodyguards and starting troops for Bellatrix. You’ll see the evolution of their armor in this video:
Tier 1: Helmed footmen with the classic shield/sword combo.
Tier 2: Visible faces based on commanders Nials and Amaren, featuring improved cape physics and higher-resolution tabards.
Tier 3 (Elite): The highest quality models with blonde and red hairstyle variations.
The Battle for Lordaeron:
Leading a single full stack of Stromgarde’s finest, Bellatrix marches north to aid a small contingent of 500 Lordaeron troops. We face off against two massive Scourge armies. Using the 3rd Person Mod by Hit&Run, I control Bellatrix directly on the front lines until her heroic end.
Though the Scourge’s numbers eventually overwhelmed us, the stats were incredibly close. This is a tribute to a character I’ve played back in my teenager years and a playtest of her WIP model in the latest release of the main mod.
PS: This video revealed the use of the new Overlaytextures that in the end were worse than the older ones, so I've since restored the older ones to the next version of Warcraft: Total War - as the ones seen in this video blurried the face or covered it with dirt which i didn't like.
