This footage captures the moment Max and Minnie were finally freed -after spending 14 harrowing years trapped in tiny, filthy cages at a bus stop depot in Armenia.
They were surrounded by their own faeces, with no shelter, no stimulation -just metal bars and concrete. It’s unthinkable cruelty, but it’s not uncommon.
We are on a mission- together with our partners, FPWC - to rescue every brown bear still suffering in captivity across Armenia. Over 50 bears are believed to still be living in horrific conditions like this.
