How could anyone think these conditions are acceptable?
Sadly, we believe many more brown bears are suffering in captivity across Armenia. Each day, they wake up surrounded by their own faeces, dirty scraps of food, and nothing that even resembles a natural life.
For what reason?
Profit. Greed. Selfishness.
Some of these bears may have been taken from the wild as cubs, ripped away from everything they knew, and sold into a lifetime of suffering. Many end up trapped in tourist areas, restaurants, or private collections, treated as entertainment rather than living, feeling animals.
Working with our partners, FPWC, we have rescued 56 bears and taken them to safety at their sanctuary in the Armenian mountains.
There, they receive the medical care, rehabilitation, and specialist support they need, with the hope that, where possible, some may one day return to the wild.
But there are still bears in Armenia who need rescuing.
We need YOUR HELP to spread awareness of this issue, so we can gain the support and funds needed to continue our mission with FPWC and reach more bears trapped in suffering.
