The sixth edition of the Berlin Climate and Security Conference (BCSC) explored how to secure a climate for peace. The conference examined why climate must be integrated into peacemaking. Through taking stock of best practice examples, it advanced concrete climate security approaches and initiatives.

Cities were at the forefront of combating climate change and managing migration, often serving as hotspots for instability and conflict. Accounting for over 70% of global greenhouse gas emissions, cities also faced significant climate impacts while being primary destinations for migrants. This session aimed to explore how cities could address climate impacts on migration and enhance urban planning, reception, and integration policies for migrants and displaced persons.
