This is my part for ZukiEditz's ''Bad Things'' MEP! ^^
The theme is that we could choose a comfort character - a character we heavily relate to or have a strong bond with, and when i heard this particular part, i was immediately captivated and knew that i wanted to use Wei Wuxian! ^^ And in fact, this song captivated me, in general!

I got vivid scenes in my head for the clips for 0:08 - 0:12, and that section, plus one extra clip, looks exactly the way i hoped it would!
It was really fun setting these clips and editing this in general, i really got into it!
It's quite nice when i actually have this much fun making a MEP part, and when i feel enough inspo.

I loved seeing how the clips came together. The clip i placed at 0:06 ended up being basically accidental, bc i just found that part while skimming through the episode that i had opened, and i went ''whoaaa that looks nice'' and then i decided to cut the clip and place it closer to the timeline for the heck of it, and decided to place it before on of the clips that i had already set. I was pleasantly surprised to see how well it flowed and how the motions flowed to the music ^^

I finished setting all of the clips in one night. I believe i did so in about an hour, a little more than that. Recently I haven't been too sure in my own abilities of placing good clips due to losing inspo to place good ones or being too lazy, but making this reaffirmed to me that when i put in effort and when i have inspo, things just come together!
It's just that i tend to sometimes struggle with remembering what clip was from what episode or what cutscene, so thus starts my urge to put less effort into clips. In this one tho, i spent about maybe 15 minutes searching for the clip at 0:10, and i wasn't able to find it, but then i ended up Accidentally stumbling across it while i was scrubbing through an episode that i had opened, and i was like, ''there it is!"'.

Decided to keep the effects simple to put more attention towards the clip selection, but i still wanted the effects to compliment these clips.
Not too many new things done here for me. I used two different fonts in the same piece of text, and i diagonally split some text at one point. Wanted to use more bass shakes at first but they turned out to be a bit chaotic and didn't really suit the vibe of what i had been creating so far, so i only used one at the start.

I found myself thinking about Wei's character development while making this.
How he took so many years in MDZS to develop into the man he becomes, and how he lost his innocence and had to witness so many deaths and losses. Plus (for a while) turning on those who had grown to trust and love him. I decided to focus on Wei's relationship with his inner grief and relationship with Lan in this part! Mostly base the clips off the lyrics, general flow, and this tiny amount of lore and ideas that i had.
(Can i just mention how i noticed how his character development is similar to the kind of development that Judai Yuki goes through in Yugioh GX? In terms of what he goes through and what he has to suffer through and learn. Except Judai had this development in a significantly shorter time in the story)

Overall i'm very happy with this result! There are some little things that i think could have been a bit more creative, but for the vibe that this is giving off, i think it's a good part ^^
