As families prepare for the new school year, the cost of back-to-school shopping continues to climb.
According to the National Retail Federation’s annual back-to-school survey, families with children in kindergarten through 12th grade are expected to spend an average of $863.86 this year. That includes an average of $293.11 on electronics, $250.29 on clothing and accessories, $174.01 on shoes and $146.45 on school supplies.
