Every day, we hear about a lot of crazy news, but this one out of China has got to be one of the most shocking ones I've seen in some time.
No, your eyes are not deceiving you, that's a newborn baby stuck in a sewage pipe, after being flushed down a toilet
Firefighters rescued the child from the pipe in a residential building in Jinhua in China's eastern Zhejiang province, after one resident said she heard a baby crying.
And yes, the baby was inside this small pipe. Rescuers took the whole thing to the hospital, and carefully removed the baby boy. Miraculously the tiny baby survived this bizarre ordeal.
Apparently authorities have found the baby's mother. We don't know much about her, but according to a local newspaper, she confessed to police in tears.
As shocking as this whole thing is, it's actually not out of the ordinary in China.

You see, the Chinese regime has this thing called the One Child policy. And because of this baby girls and second born children are often abandoned by their parents.
But more and more shocking images like these are leaving the nation shell-shocked, and the Internet ablaze with Netizens trying to make sense of it all.
This man commented: After seeing this news, (I ask) is society ill or are people ill? (people's) hearts are really hateful.
This commenter says: After watching this news, I cursed a lot, what is up with the world?
A lot of the comments were directed at the parents -- for doing something so unspeakable.
But it's worth noting that this is part of a wider phenomenon in Chinese society. The Communist regime's one child policy means that mothers pregnant with a second child are often forced to have abortions because even if they do manage to have the baby, they generally won't get state sponsored education or healthcare for their second born. They often find themselves in a desperate situation and see abandoning their child as the only option.
