Beijing authorities confiscated 1,100 knives and banned knife sales in supermarkets. Beijing is banning the sale of knives due to the increase of knife weilding attacks in the City. Back in January shops were required to register the knife buyer's real names to buy knifes. Knives were last banned in the capital during the 60-year anniversary celebrations of the founding of the People's Republic of China in October 2009.
