Swingin' D Horse Rescue saved Winston from slaughter in June 2017. He was skin and bones and eaten up with rain rot when we pulled him off the kill pen. Two months later, he's put on about 100 lbs. and is healthy as a horse!
He lives in a pen outside our front door until he's gelded. That's when we'll move him to the pasture with the herd. He gets regular visits from one of our smaller, more docile geldings so he can learn to be a horse. Right now we're enjoying tucking him in at night and watching him wake with a big stretch in the morning.
