Sothe is one of the more interesting units skill-wise in ASF because of how his regular skills were translated. First of all, his Steal and Guard skills that he has normally in RD are translated to Disarm and Parity. Disarm pairs nicely with his terrible mastery of Bane, because if he procs it and can double, he essentially has a 1-shot mastery like a lot of the other units in the game. The issue is that he has to rely on that to get his one-shots, while the other units can just proc their mastery, and it's done. Party is just a nice option for him when he has the offensive output to defeat the opposition without the need for skills. And when you look at his stats, you can definitely see that he has the offense to back it up even if he's stuck with the knives' generally low Mt. But this is all just the stuff that he gets with his stuff from RD; we haven't gotten to the other things that he gains from Base Conversations and PoR. As for the base conversations, he gets access to Boots from Tauroneo in one of them, which in turn grants him Adept, something very much appreciated by him. It basically gives him another out with his mastery skill since he can proc it to Bane first and then finish off with the second hit. And even if he doesn't mastery, it's still a very strong skill that pairs well with offensive powerhouses like he is. As for how he got these stats, he also gets Blossom from PoR when he was just a Thief. We just decided that it would give a stat boost based on 5% of his base PoR growth rates. It didn't give him more than 4 extra points in any stat, but it still shored up a lot of them, particularly his Str and Spd. The one downside to him is his mastery skill, as mentioned before, and the fact that it's the only martial class in Radiant Dawn that doesn't have access to a Brave weapon. If he did have it, I'd think he'd probably end up being one the most powerful units in the series.
