Oscar is a pretty average unit in the series, not too strong, but he doesn't stand out either. No personal skills to speak of either, so he really just needs to proc his mastery skill, Sol, to do well. His Str is quite low for this series' standards and because Sol just multiplies damage, there are some fights that are a struggle fest for him. The good thing going for him is that he is sneakily very fast in this series compared to last mostly because of the Earth affinity giving him a nice boost to his Spd. This helps him double more often and gives him more chances to proc Sol which he really needs to use to win. It also helps that he's in the better Paladin class in RD, Silver Knight, which gives him access to the top two arguably best weapon types in the game, Lances and Bows, as well as having the ability to proc Sol from range with Bows which can keep him safe from other mastery skills. However, because his bulk isn't the best, even if he doesn't get hit by mastery skills, it's hard for him to stall the fights well even with Sol healing.
