The Average Stats series is finally back up and running, and what better way to start it up than having Ike go first? Ike has quite the stat wall with great HP and solid offenses. He also gets Cancel this time around thanks to the Base Conversations that he has through the game, which makes him even more potent. The only issue is his Lck stat, which is well below average. This ruins his initiation rate, since in ASF, the way that initiation works is the unit with the higher Lck initiates first, so because Cancel only works when you initiate, he won't be proccing it as often as he'd like. This change is both a blessing and a curse for him. Because he has the great stat wall and Nihil, he doesn't have to worry about mastery skills at all, but because of the aforementioned Lck stat, he is incredibly susceptible to crits as a result. So, while his HP is great, his Defense and Res aren't the best for tanking those crits. One thing that helps in this regard for him is the boost to the SS weapons. Because he can get SS in both Swords and Axes, he gets the SS boost for both of them. This gives him a nice Def boost with the Vague Katti (+5 Def) and a little extra boost to his Res for Ragnell (+5 Def/+3 Res) and Urvan (+8 Res). Those extra points to his defenses really add up to help get him out of those pesky crit ranges.
