On November 17, 2024. Officers from the Siren Police Department were dispatched to a disturbance in progress. Dispatch advised that a male (Nicholas) had called and stated that a female (Katrina) was at his residence refusing to leave and causing a disturbance. As the officer arrived on scene, he observed Katrina and Nicholas arguing near the front steps of the residence.
The officer asked Katrina to walk over to his squad car and questioned her about the situation. Katrina showed signs of being intoxicated and admitted to being drunk. Nicholas walked over and told Katrina that she needed to leave when he told her to and that she wasn't welcome or wanted at his house. Katrina replied, "Don't invite me then". Nicholas stated he never invited Katrina over. Katrina started walking toward Nicholas, prompting the officer to grab her arm and direct her away from him. When asked how much she had to drink, Katrina stated "barely any, I'm emotional". She mentioned that she drove to Nicholas’s house and hadn’t consumed any alcohol since arriving. She then began making statements that did not make any sense. Katrina was asked if there was any conversation between her and Nicholas prior to her arriving at his house, she stated there was not and that she showed up unannounced. Katrina was searched and secured in a squad car while officers spoke with Nicholas.
Nicholas stated he had not talked to Katrina in over a month and that she randomly showed up in his garage trying to fight him. He explained that Katrina swung at him so he tried to push her out of the garage. It was mentioned that Katrina did not damage anything but refused to leave multiple times before removing a piece of her clothing and throwing it in the yard. Nicholas stated that he contacted the police after locking the garage door when Katrina started kicking it. Nicholas did not want to press charges but requested that Katrina not come back.
Katrina was then asked to perform field sobriety tests due to the fact that she admitted driving to Nicolas’s house and not drinking anything since arriving. She refused the testing and became agitated while being handcuffed. Katrina was then secured in the squad car again while officers searched her car. A half full bottle of tequila was located on the front passenger floor board and her vehicle was towed from the scene.
Katrina was transported to the hospital where she refused to consent to a blood draw. Officers were able to obtain a search warrant for her blood and walked Katrina to a hospital room. Katrina started yelling and cussing while at the hospital. Katrina then jumped up from the bed she was sitting on and made a movement towards a State Trooper in the room while yelling at him. An officer grabbed Katrina's arm and directed her back onto the bed. Katrina continued to attempt to stand up several times and was told to sit down and stop resisting.
A nurse came into the room and began applying a tourniquet which Katrina said wasn't tight enough. Katrina was allowed to tie it herself before allowing the nurse to complete the blood draw. The results from the Wisconsin State Laboratory of Hygiene later revealed that she had a .176 BAC. While walking Katrina back to the squad car, she lunged at an officer in an aggressive manner. She was then transported to the Burnett County Jail and released to jail staff. Katrina was found guilty for operating while intoxicated (2nd). She was sentenced to 5 days in jail, her license got suspended for 12 months, and she was ordered to pay $971 in fines.
